Context in which we operate
Policy context
The coalition government has decided not to impose nationally driven targets and priorities and has abolished Public Service Agreements, Local Area Agreement targets and national indicators. Local areas are expected to identify community safety issues and priorities through consultation with local communities and consideration of robust evidence. There is a general desire to reduce crime and specific policies to prevent and reduce violence against women and girls, to which Safe Partnership's work contributes.
Partnership context
It is the Government’s policy that community safety is a matter for collaboration between central and local government and other key agencies and partners at local level.
